I value diversity to a high extent. My husband is from South Africa, and I feel so privileged to now be a “part” of that culture. Because often times students do not have the opportunity to visit foreign countries or be submerged in their culture, I want to take advantage of the variety of cultures in our classroom.

Every Friday we will have a “Culture Workshop” where one person will share about their heritage, where they grew up, the language, traditions, and the food. They will bring one famous cultural dish to share with the classroom.

I expect everyone to be excepting of other cultures and embrace the fact that we are all different!
